Terms of Service

1. What Hyr is — and is not

Hyr is an online marketplace that connects people who need local services ("Customers") with independent businesses and professionals who offer them ("Providers"). Hyr is a venue and lead-generation platform only. We do not perform services, employ Providers, set their prices, schedule or supervise their work, or guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service. Providers are independent contractors, solely responsible for the services they offer and perform.

2. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.
• You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• One person or business per account unless we agree otherwise in writing.

3. Verification — what it means and does not mean

Before a Provider can be listed, we collect identity, licensing, and insurance documentation and perform a review. Verification is a good-faith screening step, not a guarantee. It does not certify a Provider's competence, character, or the quality or safety of their work, and it does not make Hyr responsible for their conduct. You are encouraged to exercise your own judgment, confirm credentials, and take normal precautions before and during any engagement.

4. Bookings, payments & fees

• Customers and Providers agree on scope and price directly through the platform's booking, estimate, and invoice tools.
• Payment terms for a given service are set by the Provider. Where payments are processed off-platform, Hyr is not a party to the payment and is not responsible for it.
• If and when Hyr enables online payments or charges platform/service fees, the applicable fees and payment terms will be disclosed before you incur them.
• Taxes arising from a service are the responsibility of the Customer and Provider as applicable.

5. Your responsibilities & acceptable use

You agree to use Hyr lawfully and to follow our Acceptable Use Policy. You will not misrepresent your identity or credentials, circumvent the platform to avoid fees or verification, harass other users, post unlawful or infringing content, or attempt to disrupt or probe the service.

6. User content

You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., listings, photos, reviews, messages). You grant Hyr a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. You are responsible for your content and represent that you have the rights to post it.

7. Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hyr disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Hyr does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any Provider or Customer will meet your expectations.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hyr will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any disputes, injuries, losses, or damages arising out of the conduct of Customers or Providers or the performance of any service. Hyr's total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to Hyr in the three months before the claim or US $100.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Hyr harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your content, your services, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

10. Dispute resolution & arbitration

[Subject to counsel review.] Except where prohibited by law, disputes between you and Hyr will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, and you and Hyr waive the right to participate in a class action. Final arbitration terms, the administering body, venue, and any opt-out window will be confirmed here before launch.

11. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law, or that present a risk to the community. You may stop using the platform and request account deletion at any time from your account settings.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, where appropriate, we will ask you to re-accept. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
